Cumberland Falls

Picture
Known as the "Niagara of the South," our most visited wonder, Cumberland Falls, is a 125 feet wide waterfall which plunges into a scenic, boulder strewn gorge.

Imagine standing on a cliff, just feet from where the Cumberland River pours over a 90 feet drop; while standing on a platform at the base of the falls, crashing water sprinkles your face with a fine mist; and from the Eagle Falls Trail, overlooks high in the mountains provide breathtaking views and incomparable photo opportunities.

For a truly unforgettable experience, Sheltowee Trace Outfitters offers rafting excursions to the base of the falls, including a Rainbow Mist Trip, which is suitable for even children.

Eagle Falls

Following a scenic trail along the river, the mighty sound of Cumberland Falls fades to the softer sounds of rolling water and wildlife.  Suddenly the trail opens into a hidden playground of many in years past.  Sunlight streams through an opening in the forest canopy, and Eagle Falls splashes into a crystal clear pool.
